Local Summer Spots: Jordan Lake Recreational Park
Looking for somewhere to get away with the family and friends? But on a budget? Jordan Lake is the spot to be at. With 9 different recreational areas and 4 beachfront locations, picnic areas, and hiking trails, it is one of the largest in the state. Kids can enjoy a playground area and also volleyball court. Birds such as the Bald Eagle, The Osprey, Egret, the Red Tail Hawk, The Blue Heron and the Wise Horned Owl can be found here. A day pass for picnicking, swimming, boating is $7 Holidays and Weekends and $6 weekdays. For seniors the pass is $5 Holidays and Weekends and $4 Weekdays. Fishing is allowed outside the yellow swim lines at all beach areas and along the shore at your campsite.
